Interested in top-quality sparkling wines? Winemaker Matthys Botes will guide you through the fabulous Cap Classique sparkling wines of Pongrácz, made in the traditional bottle-fermentation method. Pongrácz is named after Desiderius Pongrácz, a Hungarian Count who led a very eventful life, serving in the Hungarian army, being imprisoned in a Russian prison camp, and ultimately fleeing Hungarian unrest to South Africa. In his new homeland, he was a pioneer in cultivating Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes and authored several books on wine growing. In this tasting, you will get acquainted with Pongrácz's magnificent bottle-fermented wines.

Available for tasting: are Pongrácz Méthode Cap Classique Brut, Pongrácz Blanc de Blancs Méthode Cap Classique Brut, Pongrácz Brut Rosé, and the stunning Pongrácz Desiderius Brut, aged for over five years on the lees.

The tasting will be held by winemaker Matthys Botes.
